New Delhi: Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) will launch the much awaited mid-size Multi-Purpose-Vehicle Mobilio in India by July this year to be followed by the launch of new Jazz in the fourth quarter of the current fiscal.

Honda Mobilio has been well received in the other emerging markets like Indonesia where it is competing with rival Suzuki Ertiga. According to reports in this particular country Mobilio has outsold Ertiga. But Mobilio cannot be called a direct competition to Ertiga as it is more spacious and bigger. Mobilio will place in between Ertiga and Toyota Innova.

The carmaker is buyout on the success of its compact sedan -Amaze and flagship name plate in the country -Honda City and aims to sell three lakh cars in the next two years. “We have sold seven lakh cars in India so far and hope the number of total cars sold in India will become one million in the next two years,” said, Hironori Kanayama, President & CEO HCIL.

The sales target comes in line with the company’s previously announced long-term projections of three-lakh units’ annual sales by 2017.

In the recently concluded financial, HCIL market share more than doubled compared to previous and recording over 80 percent year-on-year growth in sales.

The Japanese auto giant is also increasing its dealership network in India and will be entering a number new small cities and towns. It aims to have over 230 dealerships across 150 cities in India by 2015.
