Many banks may not operate for as many as 11 days this month
If you have some unfinished banking tasks or need a lot of cash then beware as banks will remain closed for a number of days this month.

With a number of festivals in October, banks will not operate for as many as 11 days this month . So plan accordingly else you may face cash crunch or worse (if you have things that need to be done at bank branches only).

Here're the dates when banks will be closed this month.

October 2: Gandhi Jayanti

October 6: Sunday

October 8: Dussehera

October 12: Second Saturday

October 13 and October 20: Sundays

October 26: Fourth Saturday

October 27: Sunday + Diwali

Besides in West Bengal, SBI will remain closed in West Bengal from October 5-8 due to Dussehera while there will be no activity in SBI branches in Tamil Nadu on October 7 due to Ayudha Pooja.

Some banks may not operate on October 29 due to Bhaidooj.
