ITC limited is helpng villagers access opportunities under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee (MGNREG) scheme in 1,467 villages across 14 states, the company said in a statement.
ITC has been able to contribute in creating 7.5 lakh person days of employment for the rural people through these initiatives, it said.
“The objective is to scale up this programme by extending it to more regions in these unprecedented and challenging times," ITC’s head of agri business, S. Sivakumar, said.
ITC and its NGO partners helped farmers make use of opportunities, it said.
