MUMBAI: Colors, the Hindi general entertainment channel from the Viacom18 stable, will be the principal sponsor of Reliance Industries-owned Mumbai Indians, the Mumbai franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It is important to note that Reliance Industries-owned TV18 owns a majority stake in Viacom18.

“Associating with the most popular cricketing team of IPL – Mumbai Indians, which enjoys tremendous adulation, is a perfect blend with our brand positioning,” said a Viacom18 spokesperson. “This is yet another avenue for us to connect with our audiences both on and off the field as well as on-air.”
