Telecom, IT and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad Monday inaugurated the India Mobile Congress 2019, jointly organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Delhi-based Cellular Operators Associaton of India (COAI).
"It is a pleasure to know that the Cellular Operators Association of India for hosting the third edition of the annual India Mobile Congress 2019," the Prime Minister said.
The theme of the conference, imagine a new connected world - intelligent, immersive and inventive, according to him, is closely related to the lives of people.
The third annual India Mobile Congress is the largest digital event in the South Asian region.
The congregation of national and international stakeholders of the telecom industry, Modi said, would be an opportunity to identify the best ideas and latest technological innovations.
Deliberations in the third India Mobile Congress, he said, would take a critical look into new and emerging technologies and will benefit common consumers.
Modi wished the three-day discussions at the third annual India Mobile Congress 2019, a success that according to him, would bring people in general and telecom sector together.
Incumbent telecom carriers such as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea together with their vendor-partners such as Samsung, Huawei, Nokia, and Ericsson have planned the fifth generation or 5G technology demonstrations during the three-day event.
More than 500 companies in the Information Communications Technology (ICT) space have marked their presence with over 100,000 individuals are expected to visit the exhibition site, according to the organisers.
