Jio Platforms, Qualcomm successfully test 5G solutions, clock over 1 Gbps speed in trials

    Synopsis

The announcement follows through from the Reliance AGM 2020, where Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced plans for a 100 percent "homegrown 5G" network in India.

NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries-owned Jio Platforms said on Tuesday that it has locally developed and tested a fifth-generation radio access network (RAN) that is capable of transferring data at more than a gigabit per second.
“With Qualcomm technology and support, Jio has indigenously developed a 5G RAN product that has achieved over 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) of throughput,” Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen said at a virtual event hosted in the US.

The product, according to Oommen, is already tested and validated by a top carrier in the US. Qualcomm Ventures has recently invested ₹730 cr for a 0.15% stake in Jio Platforms.

@Rajiv Biswas i am seriously concerned about your mental state. 5g is all about tech and software. hardware is only required for transmission. Jio has designed everything. And from where does politics come in middle. that shows your hopeless try to rope modiji in false accusations. HAHAHA. Jio has earned massive investments and has capital. Your hate for modi has become hate for India. I am ashamed that we have such shameless people in our country. Proud of RIL to follow Atmanirbhar Bharat. Nice to have a global ambitious conglomerate in india.

Where are you using your own Hardware for 5G ? Developing software RAN is not even 10 percent of what 5G is all about. Qualcomm which is providing its Hardware chipset, Modem stack, Physical layer design & development is the critical component here...which our incompetency, corruption, filth, mismanagement & politics won't let us understand...this article celebrates our mediocrity, worthlessness and stupidity of us...even richest man of India, Ambani is unable to develop core & critical Hardware required for 5G & hence has to beg it from US Qualcomm....coming at Huge Royalty & tax payer money costs...Atmanirbhar...what a joke & sham an illiterate PM has thrown as Jumla to the masses..what a shame we are to the World..this article fills us with shame & contempt that we are for the World...Malice on Earth we are...
