MALA: Stage set to honour excellence in maritime, logistics sectors

The stage is all set for the glittering function that is being organised to acknowledge excellence in Indian maritime and logistics sectors. The All-India Maritime And Logistics Awards (MALA) 2010, to be held in Mumbai on September 30, will witness the veritable who's who of the industry, from India and abroad, gathering for the evening function.

It will be addressed by Tomas Dyrbye, CEO of Safmarine, and Capt Anil Singh, senior vice-president and managing director of DP World Indian Subcontinent.

Also gracing the occasion will be Rahul Asthana, chairman of Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT), and S Hajara, chairman and managing director of Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), who will be the guests of honour.

Representatives from all segments of the cargo, maritime and logistics trade are also expected to be present in strength for this comprehensive acknowledgement of excellence in the sector, which will see nominees vie for awards in more than 40 categories. The winners will be chosen by an experienced and professional jury chaired by DT Joseph, former shipping secretary.
