Apple unveils iPad Pro with FaceID; new Macbook Air and Mac Mini priced at $1199 & $799, respectively

Apple's A12X bionic chip makes new iPad Pro the most-powerful iPad, ever.

In the second special event this year, Apple introduced its extended family to the fans. The new and improved iPad Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini took centre stage, while Apple Pencil impressed with its unique features.

The Apple Special Event took place in New York at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Also check out the highlights from the event.

Here's a look at all the products and their specifications launched at the event:

The new, thinner iPad Pros ditches the home button, and has introduced Face ID, edge-to-edge LCD display, and two size variants (11-inch and 12.9-inch). The Pro comes with sharper edges.

The most-powerful iPad Pro runs on A12X bionic chip. The have up to 1 TB storage, and USB-C port which can connect to various devices like a DSLR camera or high-resolution desktops.

The new 11-inch iPad is priced at $799, and the 12.9-inch model at $999. Both will be available to order today, and will arrive on November 7.

The new, 13.3-inch MacBook Air come with an edge-to-edge retina display, Touch ID fingerprint scanner in the keyboard, and sapphire crystal protected.

Apple’s next-generation MacBook Air has narrower, black bezels which makes viewing better. Packed with 4 million pixels, the Touch ID is powered by T2 chip.

The new device has loud, in-built speakers, 8th-generation dual-core Intel CPU, 16GB RAM, 1.5TB of internal storage, battery life of 13 hours of video playback. The new model weighs 2.75 pounds (approximately 1.25 kg) and 17% smaller than the previous version.

It starts at $1,199, and can be ordered today. It will be available for shipments beginning next week.

In four years, This is the first updates to Apple's Mac model.

The desktop computer that connects to an external monitor is more powerful and five times faster than its previous model. It is completely made of recycled aluminum (just like MacBook Air).

The base device has an 8th-gen Intel quad-core processor, additional upgraded six-core processor, storage up to 64GB, supports 2TB SSD drives, Apple T2 chip for secutity, USB-C ports, HDMI port and a Ethernet port of up to 10GB.

Starting at $799, it has Core i3 processor, 16GB RAM and 128GB SSD.

Using this new device is simple as using a pencil. In order to change drawing tools, Apple has configured touch features like tapping the stylus twice to switch modes. It attaches magnetically to the iPad, which in turn helps the stylus to charge wireless-ly via the tablet.

New iOS for all
The entire line-up of iPads, Macs and iPhones will have Apple's latest operating system, iOS 12.1, available for installation.
