Kickstarting the wedding season this year is ‘Dangal’ girl, Babita Phogat, who recently married wrestler Vivek Suhag.
It seemed like Babita took a leaf out of Priyanka’s book as the wrestler donned a stunning red lehenga, similar to the one Priyanka Chopra wore back in 2018, during her wedding.

The beautiful lehenga complete with shining jewellery and sequinned look seemed like the perfect wedding dress. Babita’s sister, Geeta, shared the photographs of the wedding on her Instagram account, congratulating her sister and wishing her luck for a new innings..

According to reports in the local media, instead of taking the customary seven vows of the traditional Hindu wedding, the couple took an extra eighth to express solidarity with the cause of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’.

Babita and Vivek had participated in the ninth season of the dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ and had won the hearts of the audience with their dance.

A week before the wedding, Babita Phogat had posted pictures with Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, when she had visited them to extend an invitation.

Since then, Babita has been posting pictures of the days leading up to her wedding on Instagram, starting from the very first rasm to mehndi (applying henna on hands).

If reports are to be believed, the newly-married couple might host a reception at the Phogats' ancestral village in Balali, Haryana.
