MS Dhoni (L) and Yoko Ono (R).
He is one of the leading doctors in the country. He values his privacy (but not of his clients.)

Dear Dr D,

I am often called The Fifth Beatle. It is true that haters also refer to me in stories headlined ‘How Yoko Ono ruined the Beatles’ but even here my influence is apparent. I can inject great difference and meaning even into something as developed and beloved as The Fab Four. I am no stranger to wisdom. But even I was totally floored by something outstanding.

I tweeted this the other day (to spread joy and love in the world): ‘Give us some advice that will make our lives heal and shine.’

I got a lot of great responses but this one was priceless: ‘Never leave your crease with MS Dhoni behind the stumps! ’ from someone named ICC. This got the most likes and retweets and rightly so, because it is so profound. I just wanted to share it with your readers in India.

First: what is this crease? It is a reference to the ridges, grooves and folds that we face in life. ‘Never leave’ means ‘always remain’. The world is not a perfect place. Accept it!

There there is Ms Dhoni. Who is Ms Dhoni? I think she is a fictional person; she is all of us and none of us! And last, the stumps. What is ‘behind the stumps’ ? They are the trees that we are destroying. We are leaving only stumps behind.

A veteran at the death, the former skipper proved once again that he still remains one of the finest finishers in the game. Here are some other instances when MS Dhoni rescued a game from the jaws of the opposition:

How wonderful. Thank you ICC. Thank you. Hari Om, Hari Om, Hari Om.

Yoko Ono
NY-London-La La Land

Dear Yoko,

You have it absolutely right. There is a second meaning also, but it is impossible to explain cricket to the uninitiated. It must be experienced, just like life.
