Durga Pujo goes digital: Virtual window facilitates online pushpanjali, darshan for devotees

KOLKATA: Festival Experentia has launched the website 'MahaUtsav Online' that will expand the horizon for virtual participation in the forthcoming Durga Puja festival. The aim is to help Indian diaspora across the world connect and virtually participate in the pujo.

The newly launched website 'MahaUtsav Online' has tied up with three prominent pujo committees in Kolkata namely – Chakraberia Sarbojanin, Ahiritola Sarbajanin and Salt Lake FD Block Sarbajanin, the company release said.

The release further added, the website will offer services like 'online darshan', 'online pushpanjali', 'online daala' and 'online pranami'. It will allow people to offer personalised prayers, help them to understand the chanted mantras as well as allow people to offer daala comprising sweets, fruits, saree and vermillion along with 'gotra' or clan name to seek blessings for oneself and their family. The website will also enable virtual visitors give monetary contribution to a pujo committee.

MahaUtsav Online will make the grandeur of Durga Pujo celebrations accessible on laptop, PCs or mobile screens from anywhere in the world.

For women folk visiting any of these three pandals during Pujo, MahaUtsav Online with the assistance of committee members will provide feeding rooms, hygienic toilets, medical aids, accessible drinking water, multiple manned help desk and visitor friendly volunteers.

“DurgaPujo is the biggest showcase of what Bengal artistry is all about... This year we thought of creating a paradigm shift in the way people enjoy and participate in Pujo. The website MahaUtsav Online will make the grandeur of Durga Pujo celebrations accessible on laptop, PCs or mobile screens from anywhere in the world. The initiative aims to connect non-resident Indians with their culture, traditions, history and more,” said Anoop Hoon, founder of Festival Experentia & MahaUtsav Online.

From waking up to the rhythmic dhaak beats, getting soaked in the festive fervour, offering anjali and seeking the blessings of the divine goddess – everything can be availed directly from the Sarbajanin Pujos @ MahaUtsav Online.

One just has to go to https://www.mahautsavonline.com and search for the favoured Pujo where he/she would like to take part in. One can also set alerts on the 'online nirghonto' or 'time-table' indicating auspicious indexes section to get notified about the Pujo timings that ensures zero miss out on the important happenings and rituals.
