Fire breaks out at Aishwarya Rai's mother and Sachin Tendulkar's in-laws' building

The plush high-rise building in Bandra West is also home to several renowned celebrities including adman Prahlad Kakkar.

A massive fire broke out in La Mer Building, Bandra, Mumbai. The fire broke out on the 10th and the 11th floor of the building which is owned by Sachin Tendulkar's in-laws. "Tendulkar's father-in-law was on the 11th floor when the fire broke out, owing to a short-circuit. He vacated the building along with his domestic help. No injuries or casualties were reported," said assistant police inspector of Bandra police station Savita Shinde told a leading daily.

The fire broke out on the 13th floor of the La Mer building located at Bandra West. Eight fire-tenders are at the spot to douse the blaze. No casualty has been reported so far in the incident.

The plush high-rise building in the posh suburban region of Mumbai is a house to several renowned celebrities including adman Prahlad Kakkar. Kakkar, who lives on the second floor of the residential building, told Times Now that he was also collecting information regarding the blaze. Kakkar informed that there are 16 floors to the building. "Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's mother lives on the 12th floor while Sachin Tendulkar's in-laws stay on the 10th floor," Kakkar told Times Now.


Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her husband Abhishek Bachchan visited the building soon after the fire broke out. Speaking to a leading daily, the actress said, "We are doing what we have to do to deal with this."
