Highlight: Sleep tracking, Alexa
Get it for: Rs 20,999
The Versa 2 is the last wearable from the house of Fitbit, given the company just got acquired by Google for $2.1 billion. What Google plans to do with its latest acquisition remains unknown but Fitbit says it would be business as usual for them in India.
In fact, Fitbit has promised it will not allow the health data of its 28 million active users to be tracked for Google Ads.
Now, talking about the Versa 2, it is a versatile smartwatch that works on both Android phones and iPhones.
With Google’s Wear OS-based devices largely failing to impress, Fitbit’s Versa range is one of the few reliable smartwatches for those looking for an alternative to Apple Watch.
The Versa 2 monitors heart rate, exercise, sleep, diet and even menstrual cycles. Fitbit has now added voice support with Alexa. And for fitness freaks, there is a paid subscription service called Fitbit Premium.

The Versa 2 is among the few wearables that focuses a lot on tracking sleep quality. Also, there is a smart alarm system dubbed as Smart Wake, which uses machine learning to wake you up in the morning at an optimal time of your sleep cycle. So, instead of the cruel alarm buzzing at 6 am, you can select a time span of 30 minutes and the watch will decide the perfect time to ring while you are in light or REM sleep and not in deep sleep. Stressing on the need to have a good sleep, the Versa 2 also gives a Sleep Score based on your heart rate (sleeping and resting), restlessness, time awake and sleep stages.
The watch tracks cardio fitness levels and offers guided breathing sessions to relax (a feature borrowed from the Apple Watch). You can track your running, biking or hiking sessions and with the AMOLED always-on display, the Versa 2 makes it a delight to see real-time places and distances. The watch tracks over 15 exercises, including weights and yoga.
The Versa 2 claims a battery backup of around six days and it is highly recommended that you do not lose the charger since it’s expensive and the watch does not support other chargers.
The watch is available in a range of colours and band options.
