Friday fury: Markets go into a tailspin. Twitter also has an outage
It was truly Friday, the 13th, for the stock market, and Twitterverse.

And even as #StockMarket and #Sensex trended over the bearish sentiments, not everyone was lucky to get their say on Twitter.
On Friday, the microblogging site faced an outage on its desktop platform across parts of Asia, and there was much outrage online. Within hours of the platform facing some issues in India, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, there was a deluge of complaints. And naturally, #TwitterDown started trending, as users started complaining.
Most users reported they were not been able to access Twitter on desktops (85 per cent) and 8 per cent on Android devices, according to website outage metric platform Downdetector.The problem started in the morning and Japan appeared to be the most affected country.
The outage map also showed that Indian users in Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai were the most affected. On the desktop, many were greeted by a Twitter message saying do not panic.
