Samsung India today announced the launch of four new mid-segment smartphones - Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7.
Samsung India has begun the new year on a high note. Yesterday, the company launched four new mid-segment smart phones, Galaxy A5, A3, E7 and E5, targeted at young users.

The phones priced between Rs 19,000-25,000 are for the price conscious customer, who expects the experience of a premium handset model at an affordable price.

"Both phones sit bang in the centre of the mid market segment and address different need sets. A3 and A5 are targeting design conscious consumers, to whom what the phone projects about their personality and image is important," says Asim Warsi, VP, marketing, mobile & IT at Samsung India.

"E5 and E7 are targeted at young consumers, in their education phase or early years of their jobs. We've come to learn that these are consumers don't want to compromise. They push their smartphone experience. They are looking for good performance, hardware and software capabilities," adds Warsi.

The phones also come with, what Warsi argues is the world's best display resolution found in mobile phones, the HD Super AMOLED display. For the first time, Samsung is introducing the HD Super AMOLED display resolution in the mid-segment market. It was previously reserved for the premium, flagship devices like S3, S4 etc.

Changing demands have forced the brand to bring star features of its premium devices to the more affordable models. And yet, for Samsung, the premium devices stay first among equals. As Warsi concludes, "That's where the innovation takes place".
