Guardians of a Galaxy: Superhero statues are taking over the world of collectibles for these Indians

Like with most collectibles, these figurines and statues often see a rise in prices.

    Synopsis

These “designer toys” or collectible statues can cost Rs 1 lakh or more if they’re limited edition.

People my age are buying homes and I am buying statues,” says Rachit Sharma, 42, with a laugh, proudly pointing to a 30-inch statue of Deathstroke. The 1:3 scale statue of the fictional supervillain in the DC Comics’ universe hogs the limelight at Sharma’s den in his Noida residence. But before the eyes can take in the statue’s splendid craftsmanship fully, Sharma’s other collectibles — big and small — jump out at the visitor, quite literally.
