BIRMINGHAM: Sunday's World Cup match between India and England may not have had the desired outcome for the Men in Blue, oops, Orange. But it did create a fanboy moment for some people in the audience.

Sundar Pichai, the Chief Executive Officer of Google, took some time off from his busy schedule and flew all the way to England to watch the Sunday special at Birmingham. And the top boss of Google was in good company: he was seen having many cricketing moments with the Master Blaster himself, Sachin Tendulkar, during the latter's break from the commentary box.

The Chennai-born Pichai, dressed in a grey pullover and trousers, was at Birmingham to throw his weight behind Virat Kohli's boys in the game which unfortunately didn't go India's way. An avid cricket fan himself, the 46-year-old Google CEO said that he wanted an India-England final when the World Cup kicked off in May.

In earlier interactions, Pichai had expressed his love for the gentleman's game, and also revealed that he had grown up idolising Sunil Gavaskar, and later Tendulkar.

Apart from watching the game, Pichai also gifted some delectable-looking cupcakes, with Googly carved on them, to British cricket commentator Jonathan Agnew. And the latter seemed clearly bowled over.
