NEW DELHI: A week after announcing that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer won't hold any launch events on-ground throughout this month, Xiaomi took the wraps off the much-awaited ninth generation of the Redmi Note series smartphones on Thursday.

The smartphone-maker unveiled Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max with NavIC support, ISRO's indigenously developed navigation system.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max will also be available on March 25 in the same three colour variants as Note 9 Pro, and three storage variants - 6GB + 64GB at Rs 14,999, 6GB + 128GB at Rs 16,999 and 8GB + 128GB at Rs 18,999.

Both the smartphones will be available across all offline partner stores soon.

Furthermore, Kumar Jain shared a comparison of the Note 9 Pro Max with the mid-ranged premium devices (Oppo Reno 3 Pro, Samsung A71 and Vivo V17 Pro) in the market worth Rs 30,000. The comparison showed the newly-launched phone to have best processor, camera, battery and pricing.

Both Note 9 Pro, Note 9 Pro Max come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and triple Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Both are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor along with Adreno 618 GPU.

The devices sport a 5020 mAh battery and run on Android 10 with MIUI 11. While the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 18W fast charging support, Note 9 Pro Max comes with 33W fast charging support.
