'Kabir Singh' inches closer to Rs 300 crore-mark; closes fifth week at Rs 274 cr

Shahid Kapoor-starrer 'Kabir Singh' has been ruling the box office since its release. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial has now completed five weeks on the theatres and seems like there is no stopping the film from setting a miraculous record. On Thursday, the film raked in 71 lakhs and closed at a whopping Rs 274.36 crores.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news. He wrote, "#KabirSingh continues its victorious run, despite multiple films eating into the market share + reduction in screens/shows... [Week 5] Fri 1.03 cr, Sat 1.65 cr, Sun 2.30 cr, Mon 82 lacs, Tue 82 lacs, Wed 77 lacs, Thu 71 lacs. Total: Rs 274.36 cr. India biz."



The film, that also stars Kiara Advani, is inching close to the record of Aamir Khan-starrer 'Dhoom 3' which collected Rs 284 crore.



'Kabir Singh' is the Hindi remake of Telugu film 'Arjun Reddy', helmed by the same director. It talks about the journey of a self-destructive surgeon who turns to substance abuse when his girlfriend is forced to marry someone else.
