Blomqvist, who speaks English, Swedish, Spanish and German, says, “I have many favourite destinations and I continue to travel back to Southern Europe. My favourite place would be Madrid in Spain. Such an amazing city, filled with culture, flair and entertainment. The dining scene is so broad, authentic, flavourful, fun and amazing. Fresh ingredients are paired with rich full-bodied Spanish wines.”
Back home in Sweden, one place he says is a must in his home country is the Archipelagos in Stockholm. “I take a cruise liner every year passing the wonders of the thousands of islands while sitting out on deck watching the magnificent views. It is hard to describe and you must see it with your own eyes to understand the natural beauty.”
Another place he recommends is Roslagen. Located two hours from Stockholm, Blomqvist says it’s beauty is like no other. “It is located by the seaside with pure nature at play. You can even hear the winds rustling through the trees. There is a special place called Fagelsundet, Uppland, an old fishing village where you can enjoy freshly caught wild salmon and I just love to pause at this place, which to me is very far away from the going-ons of our busy urban lives.”
And, when it comes to India, Blomqvist can’t wait to go exploring and adds, “I am yet to discover some of the beautiful places in India and I know for sure, there will be quite a few that will make way into my favourite list.”
