Manu Chandra's advice for restaurants: It's imperative to be on social media
The chef and restauranteur says social media presence in no longer optional.
Chef and restauranteur Manu Chandra says it’s no longer optional. “If you are in the food business, it is imperative to be on social media, irrespective of the level at which your restaurant is,” Chandra told a news magazine recently. “We are able to put out our own narrative, and it has helped us in a big way. Friends have become influencers, and vice-versa.”
However, ultimately, it doesn’t count for much to have followers and ‘likes’ if people aren’t actually visiting you. “That is the real test of what you are doing. How will people know how good it is, unless they eat it themselves?” he asks.
