Modi turns 69: Akshay Kumar tweets poster of Bhansali's film on PM; Kohli, Tendulkar also wish

Twitter was flooded with birthday wishes for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 69 on Tuesday, and social media was flooded with wishes for the leader.

Bollywood stars also joined Twitterati in wishing the Prime Minister. B-town has had a close relationship with the PM, with celebs often engaging in Twitter exchanges with Modi, attending meetings with him, advocating his campaigns, and even inviting him to weddings.

Akshay Kumar, who had conducted a 'non-political' interview with the PM ahead of the Lok Sabha elections this year, shared a poster of a new film on Modi produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain, 'Mann Bairagi'. The film is written and directed by Ssanjay Tripaathy.


This is not the first time a film is being made on Modi. Earlier this year, Vivek Oberoi portrayed the Indian Prime Minister in the film 'PM Narendra Modi'. A web-series on the life of the leader, 'Modi: Journey of a Common Man', was also aired.

Oberoi, composed and recited a poem, while wishing the PM in a video.


Film-maker Karan Johar wished the PM a 'productive and peaceful year.'


This year's National Award winner Ayushmann Khurrana, tweeted, "May God bless you and our nation with good health and happiness. Happy birthday @narendramodi ji!."

Ajay Devgn wished the "MAN who walks the talk with INDIA."


Actor Anupam Kher and wife actor-MP Kirron Kher also wished the Prime Minister.



"Your dedication, commitment and vision of building a #NewIndia will always keep inspiring all of us," actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol tweeted.


Sports stars, too, took to the microblogging site to wish Modi.

Calling the PM's 'vision for a healthier and cleaner India an inspiration', master blaster Sachin Tendulkar wished him good health.


Indian skipper Virat Kohli, tweeted, "Wish you all the good health and success in your pursuit of taking our nation to greater heights."


Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir also shared pictures of the PM while wising him on his birthday.

Narendra Modi on Thursday was sworn-in as the 16th Prime Minister of India at a glittering ceremony in the Rashtrapai Bhawan forecourt. Modi, who swore-in for the second consecutive term today, stuck to his iconic look and sported a white kurta pyjama and grey Nehru jacket for the event. A star studded affair, the ceremony witnessed top industrialists, actors, directors and spiritual leaders in attendance.The first few to be spotted were the Ambanis. The RIL chairman Mukesh Ambani was accompanied by wife Nita and son Anant. Others at the occasion were Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata. The Emeritus boss sat next to the Ambanis in the front row.From the film fraternity, actress Kangana Ranaut, actor Anupam Kher and Vivek Oberoi joined the guest list.
