Music helps Vertices Partners boss relax; her weekly routine includes a day of 'riyaz'
Archana Khosla shares how music has helped her be more relaxed and stay on the top of her game.
She told ET Panache, "Music to my soul is what water is to the thirsty. The essence of purity is defined through the elements of music. There is something medicinal about music. Not only does it soothe the mind but it also allows the soul to breathe.
"While women are built to multi-task to a reasonable extent, handling the nuances of being a founder of a fast-growing firm, mother to a sixteen-month, super-hyper toddler and also building a platform for women entrepreneurs on various aspects of guidance can be at times overwhelming. At these moments, music allows me to soothe my energy and thoughts, to align my mind and to heal the energy."
Khosla credits music with having a tremendously relaxing effect on her, saying that it helps her to be calm and pragmatic in negotiations and while interpreting complex legal provisions.
"I try to squeeze in a couple of hours over the weekend to at least attempt some form of riyaz, so that I bring in a limited form of a structured approach to this passion of mine, which otherwise is very easy to lose out on especially given that as an entrepreneur one is a hamster in one’s own treadmill all the time," she said.
The Founder Partner of Vertices Partners says she has in the past as well as now, incorporated music into the workplace culture, by forming and being a part of music bands. "For me, it's largely a sonic experience. Different facets of music are like a conversation with one’s soul," she ended.
