Pak lose World Cup match to India, but win the day with wit on Twitter

In its fourth match during the ongoing cricket World Cup in England, India beat Pakistan with an 89-run win under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method. With the win, India's head-to-head record against Pakistan in World Cup matches now sits at 7-0.

As the Pakistan team struggled to chase a competitive target of 337 runs, Twitterati in our neighbouring country went into an overdrive with memes and jokes (in the spirit of the sport) aimed at their players.

A Twitter thread compiling tweets showed our neighbours' feelings that ranged from ' Na partition hoti na hum zaleel ho rahe hote' to another user saying ' dollar ka rate aur India k runs control karna hamare bas ki baat nahi'.

One user commented on the score, while another linked the game to borrowing money from the IMF.

Another fan commented on the physical form of their team.

Actress Mahira Khan also shared a video of a visibly upset fan that has gone viral on social media.

While yet another joked about being born to see this day.

Memes too ruled the micro-blogging site.

Twitter also had a lot to say about Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed who was seen yawning in the middle of the match.
