    On 550th Guru Nanak Jayanti, PM Modi tweets in Punjabi; Big B wishes fans, Mrs Ambani also shares post

    Bollywood celebrities and the business leaders share Gurupurab greetings.

    Gurupurab is being celebrated in India and several parts of the world. Gurudwaras around the world are all decked up for the auspicious occasion and Sikh devotees are joining shabd kirtans and processions in large numbers.

    Midst the celebrations, our favourite celebrities from tinsel town and corporate leaders took some time out to send greetings to their fans on this special day.

    For starters, Finanace Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman visited Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in Delhi on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

    The captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli, wished his fans a very happy Gurupurab.


    The Indian Skipper also posted a video message for his fans on Instagram, sharing season's greetings with them.

    The ‘Shahenshah’ of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, who has been recovering from ill health, sent out a tweet wishing everyone on the special day.



    Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent out greetings for the festival in Punjabi. His tweet translates to, “The founder of Sikhism, Kotni-koty extended to everyone from the 550th Prakash Prabhu of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru of the whole humanity. Let us once again pledge to follow the paths, teachings and principles of Baba Nanak, and join others as well.”


    Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar also sent greetings to his fans on the auspicious day.


    Tina Ambani, actress and chairperson of Mumbai-based Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, too, wished her followers a very happy Guru Nanak Jayanti. She shared an image on Twitter with text, “He who has no faith in himself, can never have faith in God”. Ambani captioned the image, “Eternal words of wisdom from Guru”.


    Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor posted a collage depicting all the Sikh characters that he had played in the recent years of his career. ‘Lakh lakh wadhaiyan’, he wrote in the caption, as he extended Gurupurab greetings.


    Indian cricketer and politician Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter to share a photograph of him bowing down and paying his respects to the Sikh Guru.


    Former Punjab Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu, visited Gurudwara Nanaksar Verka in Amritsar district to offer prayers.


    Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur, who is known for her soulful voice and Hindi and Punjabi hits, took to Twitter to thank Waheguru for his blessings. Kaur also shared a recent incident where she was performing in Delhi and was requested by the audience to sing ‘Satguru Nanak Aaye Ne’.

    Star-Studded Night

    Comedian Kapil Sharma and his new wife Ginni Chatrath hosted their second reception for the close friends from the industry at the JW Marriott in Juhu, Mumbai.

    The evening was decked up with the newly-married couple's signature 'KG' logo.
