Daruvala made his Formula racing debut in 2015.
Mumbai lad, Jehan Daruvala had an impressive 2019 F3 season in which he won two races and finished in the third spot in the driver's championship.

The 21-year-old will race in F2 for Carlin in the 2020 season. He is also part of Red Bull's junior team.

The season starts in Sakhir, Barhain on the March 20-22 weekend and will end in November with the final race at the Yas Marina in the UAE. The Red Bull junior racing team has boasted of drivers like four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, race winners Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.

"After an excellent year for me in FIA F3 in 2019, I hope to carry my form into my first year in F2 with the support of the Red Bull Junior Team and Carlin. There are many experienced F2 drivers and a number of strong rookies making it an exciting grid this year. I'm looking forward to the challenge," Daruvala said.

The youngster made his Formula racing debut in 2015 in Formula Renault where he managed to make the podium multiple times. In 2016, he was in the Toyota Racing Series where he finished as runner-up behind Lando Norris.

In 2017, Daruvala went on to become the first Indian to win an official Grand Prix, when he won the New Zealand Grand Prix. He then moved to the FIA F3 European Championship in 2017. In 2018, he was on the podiums eight times besides finishing second in the rookie championship with 26 rookie podiums in 2017.

Trevor Carlin, owner of Carlin Motorsport is also excited about the Indian in the F2 team. He said, "We are delighted to welcome Jehan back to the team for his third season with us. His performance last year in FIA F3 was extremely impressive and we really believe in him. There is no reason why he cannot make it all the way to the top. Without a doubt there will be a lot to learn - both for Jehan as a driver in a more powerful car and also for the team with the new 18-inch wheels but we have a great team ready to meet those challenges."
