The model-turned-actress, in her bail plea, also said that she is just 28 years old and has been subjected to three investigations by the police and the central agencie.
In a fresh development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe, the late actor's live-in partner, Rhea Chakraborty, who, on Tuesday, was remanded to judicial custody till October 6 by a Mumbai court, filed a bail plea in Bombay High Court through her lawyer Satish Maneshinde on Wednesday.

In her bail plea, the 28-year-old has claimed that she is innocent and that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is 'deliberately' trying to invoke stringent charges against her and her family, PTI reported.

The model-turned-actress, in her bail plea, also said that she is just 28 years old and has been subjected to three investigations by the police and the central agencies which have taken a 'severe toll on her mental health and well-being'.

The other three investigations that Chakraborty is referring to are the ones conducted by the Mumbai Police, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Further in her plea, Chakraborty said that she is innocent and is being subjected to a 'witch-hunt'. She also said that any further custody would be damaging for her mental health.

Chakraborty claimed in her plea that Rajput had been in the habit of consuming drugs, particularly, "ganja" since even before she got into a relationship with him.

While she would sometimes procure drugs for him in "small quantities", and would also "occasionally pay for them herself," she was in no way a part of any drug syndicate.

The High Court was expected to hear Chakraborty's plea today but due to the heavy rains in the city, it is now expected to hear it on Thursday.

Meanwhile, earlier on Wednesday, film-maker and producer Madhu Mantena and former manager of Rajput, Jaya Saha were issued summons for questioning by the NCB.

According to a report in Times Now, both Mantena and Saha are expected to be jointly grilled today and the focus of the NCB will be on the June 22 drug chats between the two.

Earlier this month,a special NDPS court in the city rejected the bail pleas of Chakraborty and her brother Showik, saying if let out on bail, they might tamper with the evidence.

The actress is currently lodged in the Byculla women's prison in the city.
