After chairman Mukesh Ambani delivered his approximate 90 minute-long speech, there was a brief interlude during which the curtains went down. When the curtains went up again, it was time for the shareholders to take the mic this time.
Along with the usual requests for bonus and dividends to be declared, the shareholders lauded the family. Nita Ambani (Mukesh Ambani’s wife) was praised for being her husband's and RIL’s lucky charm. Bouquets of flowers were presented to the Ambani heirs. Akash was referred to as “prince”, Isha as “princess”, and good wishes for their respective marital lives showered. Daughter-in-law Shloka (Akash’s wife) was also praised for being the harbinger of much good fortune to the family and business. Songs were sung in praise of all family members.
Then, some shareholders overshot the 3-minute per speaker time limit, and strayed from relevant questions. It was enough to irk another shareholder (wearing a blue shirt) in the audience. At this point, he stood up and raised the point that shareholders stick to asking relevant questions, and keep the personal aspects out. As the auditorium fell silent, the chairman echoed, ‘Yes, please stick to asking relevant questions.’
