Samsung is ringing in the new decade by skipping ten digits, and going straight to 20 apropos the nomenclature of its flagship smartphone range. The Galaxy S20, which will be unveiled on February 11, 2020, is expected to have a top-end variant, the S20 Ultra. Some renders and images of the device have already surfaced online.

A new leak by Twitter use Weinbach, of XDA Developers, claims that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will have a 16GB RAM variant alongside the standard 12GB model. This contradicts previous leaks that the top variant will have 12GB RAM under the hood. Both models can be mated to 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.

In what will be a relief for photography enthusiasts, Samsung is reportedly adding a miscroSD card slot to its new flagship, capable of expanding the storage capacity by up to1TB. The tipster also claimed that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will sport a 108-megapixel sensor for the primary camera, which will be augmented by a 48-megapixel sensor with 10x optical zoom, and a smaller 12-megapixel sensor mated to an ultra-wide lens.

The fourth sensor in the quad-camera package is allegedly to capture time-of-flight (ToF) data. Battery life will also be upgrade, with a 5,000mAh unit powering the device. Weinbach says that it will be capable of 45W fast-charging that can take the battery from 0-100 percent charge in 74 minutes.

The Galaxy S20 could be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC in the United States. The tipster indicated that the Snapdragon’s equivalent Exynos chipset might feature on device shipped to other countries including India.

The new flagship is apparently a phablet, with a screen size measure 6.7 inches. The final specification list will become clearer as we near the launch date of Samsung’s Galaxy S20 range of devices.
