SC to hear Rhea's plea on Tuesday; IPS officer Vinay Tiwari says Bihar Police's probe had made good progress until it got stymied on Aug 2

    Synopsis

Rhea has been summoned by the ED again on Monday.

Rhea Chakraborty was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for about eight hours in connection with a related money laundering case.
The Supreme Court will hear the petition filed by actress Rhea Chakroborty seeking to transfer an FIR against her in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case from Patna to Mumbai, on Tuesday, August 11.

The FIR had been registered against Chakroborty at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna under various sections, including abetment to suicide on the complaint of Rajput's father, KK Singh.

The 28-year-old, on Saturday, released a picture of a page of a diary with a 'gratitude list'. Sharing the picture, she said, that the list was made by Rajput.

"This is his handwriting, Lillu is Showik, Bebu is me, Sir is my dad, Ma'am is my mom, Fudge is his dog," Chakraborty said about the names mentioned in the list.

Meanwhile IPS officer Vinay Tiwari, who had been quarantined by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation when he visited Mumbai to lead the probe returned to Patna on Friday night, and said that the Bihar Police's investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput had progressed well until it got stymied on August 2.

The SP City (East), said, "I had duly informed my counterparts in Mumbai about my official tour. I had sought accommodation and requisitioned a vehicle. Since my visit and its purpose were well known, people from the media approached me with their questions at the airport itself to which I replied."

He, however, declined to reveal any details on the findings of the investigation carried out by his team asserting that doing so would be "inappropriate".

Tiwari added that despite intimation about his visit "nobody came to the airport to receive me".

"Nonetheless, I checked into a guest house and then went out to meet members of my team, who had been in the city since July 27, and take stock of the investigation. At around 10 pm, I received a call from BMC authorities who spoke about the need to quarantine me. As a law abiding person, I returned to the guest house and extended my cooperation," he added.

"It is for all to see that a few visitors to Mumbai, where so many people reach every day, are quarantined in this fashion. Even my four subordinates were not placed in quarantine. Now, try to make sense of that," Tiwari went on to say, according to a report in news agency PTI.

The IPS officer refused to comment on queries whether his investigation sensed any connivance of the Mumbai Police with actress Rhea Chakrabdorty, accused by Rajput's father of abetting his son's suicide, saying, "I would not say anything on that. It would be inappropriate to do so."

Earlier on Friday, Chakraborty, who is now being investigated by the CBI on charges of abetting Rajput's suicide, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for about eight hours in connection with a related money laundering case. The 28-year-old arrived at the agency's Ballard Estate office with her brother Showik shortly before noon and left around 8:30 PM. Her father Indrajit Chakraborty, Showik, Chartered Accountant (CA) Ritesh Shah and business manager Shruti Modi, who also worked for Rajput, were also questioned.

Rhea has been called again on Monday.

Menawhile, as per an IANS report, Chakraborty's call details for the past one year have revealed that she was in regular touch with her family, Bollywood personalities like Mahesh Bhatt, apart from the late actor's friend Siddharth Pithani over the last one year. Rhea had reportedly spoken to her father Indrajeet Chakraborty 1,192 times, her brother 1,069 times, and at least 287 times with the late actor's house manager Samuel Miranda.

However, there were only 145 calls with Sushant and four with his sister Rani.

The call records also showed that she spoke with her mentor and film-maker Mahesh Bhatt 16 times out of which 7 were incoming, 23 times with actor Aditya Roy Kapur and 22 times with talent manager Uday Singh Gauri.

There were 791 calls with Shruti Modi, 100 with Sushant's friends Siddharth Pithani and 41 with Deepesh Sawant.

She also made 4 calls and sent a message in June-July to Mumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police Abhishek Trimukhe, who is investigating the case.

However, of the two calls that materialised, one was asking her to come to the police station to record her statement and the other was the one she made to complain about threats on social media after Sushant's suicide, according to IANS.

The 'Kedarnath' actor was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment on June 14.

Look like to score political point; BJP's government agencies are united to make the actress Rhea a scapegoat for the suicided death of SSR. Rhea and SSR were not BJP or anti-BJP members; they should not be made political toys now. Let the court and police carry out their job judiciously without taking orders from the politicians.

Now that Central Govt has approved a CBI inquiry and its has started, there is no need to sanctify Rhea's plea with a SC hearing. If at all SC chooses to hear, it must clarify that the so called live-in relation stood null & Void the day she left SSR.
