It remains unclear when the feature will make its way to the stable version of the app.
The go-to-messenger app for millions across the world, WhatsApp, has been rolling out several new features lately. In March, WhatsApp rolled out Dark Mode support, followed by profile QR codes and animated stickers. The messenger app is all set to add a new feature - the Advanced Search Mode.

According to a report on WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new feature, 'Advanced Search Mode' with 'select testers' in WhatsApp Beta app. The function is currently being tested on the WhatsApp Beta versions 2.20.197.7 and 2.20.197.10.

The Advanced Search Mode, allows users to categorically search for photos, videos, links, GIFs, audio, and documents right from the search bar. The current WhatsApp search function is quite limited, as it only allows users to search for specific words in the chat.

It doesn’t let you categorically search for media files and documents that you have shared with your contacts. The Advanced Search will simplify this process by allowing you to filter out your results across different categories.

The feature is already available for all users on iOS and will, in all probability, make its way to Android soon. However, it remains unclear when the feature will make its way to the stable version of the app.
