Technology is one of the greatest enablers of our time. While it’s impossible to imagine living without tech today, it’s also essential to find ways to disconnect. That’s why Sudeep Singh, CEO, GoWork, still prefers to rely on his memory instead of GPS while driving, and avoids using the phone after 9 pm.

Digital detox
“I am actually disciplining myself to strike the right balance with technology to optimise efficiency but not letting it enslave me,” says Singh. In fact, Singh’s leisure and travel preferences are also a conscious choice to disconnect. That’s the reason he would choose remote destinations for off-roading adventures, where he can disconnect for a day or two. “It is the perfect way for me to reboot,” he says.

Tech of choice
“My mobile handsets and smart watch are currently the gadgets that I heavily depend on, to function efficiently on a daily basis,” says Singh. He finds smaller and sleeker gadgets work best for him as opposed to heavy laptops. “I am currently using two phones, the iPhone X and a Note 10 — one of them is for personal use and the other for work calls and emails,” says Singh.

Phones Of The Year

6 Dec, 2019
2019 was a year of technology as a lot of companies showed optimism with their mind-blowing smartphones. In a race to win over their customers, various smartphone brands promised the ultimate smart experience with features like pop-up selfie camera, 20x zoom, 5G and foldable screens. While the much-awaited devices like Apple 11 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus, OnePlus 7T Pro were reviewed highly, disappointment came from the Google flagship when the company said Pixel 4 and 4 XL won't launch in India. Since smartphones have become an integral part of out lives, here's a list of all the devices launched this year that deserve reconsideration.

Speaking about his smartphone use, Singh reveals that he uses the Confide app for secure conversations. Reading is something he en-joys, and Kindle and Medium are his preferred platforms. “To switch off from work and relax, I use YouTube music and Soundcloud as well as Apple Music,” he says.

Penchant for design
There is more to his subtle preferences when it comes to personal tech. The coworking space boss is always on the lookout for new technologies. “I am also a believer of aesthetics and find both my existing phones minimalistic and classy,” he says, adding that a good grip is also something he looks for in phones, and the two handsets check that box as well.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is possibly the next device Singh aims to upgrade to. He admits being intrigued by its design and is curious to experience the user experience with a folding screen.
