Talking football with Partha Sinha, MD of McCann Worldgroup India:

Favourite team
‘I am usually a Brazil supporter but for this World Cup, I have changed my loyalty — I am supporting Argentina. It’s for one man: Lionel Messi. But the team that I support unwaveringly, and where a change of loyalty will be unthinkable, is Arsenal.’

Favourite World Cup moment
‘I watched the 1998 World Cup in France and again in 2006 in Germany. I preferred the atmosphere in Germany. [I] Didn’t get a ticket for the Argentina vs Germany quarterfinals and watched it on a large screen in a pub. It was unbelievable. I didn’t have to pay for my beer as Germany won the match [in a penalty shoot-out].’

Favourite player
‘I am a Messi fan and I think he is the only living legend of our times. This is going to be his last World Cup for all practical purposes. It would be difficult not to support his team for his last World Cup.’
