Zinc futures up on spot demand

Zinc prices rose 1.07 per cent to Rs 207.60 per kg in futures trade.

Zinc prices rose 1.07 per cent to Rs 207.60 per kg in futures trade Thursday, tracking a firm trend at the physical markets on the back of pick up in demand.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc contracts for June delivery traded higher by Rs 2.20, or 1.07 per cent, at Rs 207.60 per kg with a business turnover of 4,034 lots.

Marketmen said widening of positions by participants, following pick up in demand from consuming industries, kept zinc prices higher.
