Tune in to get insights on how to tread in such a market.
Hello, and welcome to ETMarkets' Weekend special with market expert Rajiv Nagpal. I am Saloni Goel and we will be discussing what’s playing out on Dalal Street and where is it all headed.

The market seems to be beset with too many worries and the trajectory appears to be firmly downward at the moment.

We are in the thick of the earnings season and there have been a very few positive surprises thus far. Meanwhile speculation continues over Fed rate cut and FIIs still nursing their wounds from the surcharge hike in the Budget.

Let’s explore the Whats and why(s) of all this in this discussion.

    Welcome to the show, sir.

We have had a rather confusing week on Dalal Street. What does one really make out of such behaviour of the market?

Two key themes that seem to be playing out are earnings and Fed rate cut. On earnings, nobody was expecting big positive surprises anyway, ain’t it. And on Fed, looks like a rate cut is coming sooner or later. The why so much negativity?

Bank earnings. Did the first batch of numbers surprise you? Would we have more negative surprises from others?

Lastly, the other thing I want to discuss is signs of demand slowdown in the economy. So, it all real and acute, isn’t it? What would it possibly take to reverse this trend?

Thank you Mr Nagpal for your time and solid insights.

We gotta wrap it here. Wish you listeners a Happy Weekend. Do come back for our weekend special next week and keep checking for our mid-week market analyses in this space. And for round-the-clock market news, remember it's Bye bye!
