Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) has tied up with Religare Health Insurance to insure its employees under the “Group Cover Covid-19” policy. It will cover all MCX employees for a period of one year against Covid-19. The policy is not linked to the Group Mediclaim policy provided by the Exchange for its employees.

Employees in the age group 18-65 will be covered under this policy while the sum insured per employee will be Rs. 5 lakh. The policy will be admissible for patients testing positive for Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 test) and will require an in-patient hospital stay for more than 24 hours. The product does not cover any other illness except Covid-19. It also does not include within its ambit home isolation or quarantine measures.

Employees whose test has been confirmed positive by a qualified medical practitioner are eligible for claim settlement under the policy. Claims only from those hospitals which have been designated as quarantine facilities/laboratories by the government will be considered for reimbursement.

The policy will be admissible for Corona Virus (Test - SARS-CoV-2) positive patients requiring in-patient stay at hospital for more than 24 hours. The sum insured per employee would be Rs 5 lakh. Pre & Post-Hospitalization charges if tested positive will be covered for 30 and 60 days respectively. Cash benefit will be given to the patient who has tested positive, which would be Rs 1000 per day for each day of hospital quarantine for maximum 2 weeks.

A positive test is a mandatory requirement for any claim to be paid under this product. So, any home isolation or quarantine will not be covered under the policy.
