"The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) will meet during February 5 to 7, 2019, for the Sixth Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement for 2018-19. The resolution of the MPC will be placed on the website at 11.45 am on February 7, 2019," the central bank said in a statement on its website.
The reasons are not clear for the change in timing. On the previous occasion, the RBI had released the policy statement at 2.30 pm.

Its election time and lot of free bees are on the way.. Govt and RBI should control the inflection.. Otherwise price will shoot up suddenly.. one of the reason for UPA failure was inflection.. So I believe both RBI and Modi Govt will work proactively and take steps to control inflection. I think a 100bps increase in interest rate out of this meeting will help to control inflection during election time. After election let the new govt and RBI take necessary steps based on economic situation.
