Share market update: BSE Capital Goods index down; BHEL slips 4%

NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was down in Friday's afternoon session.

Shares of Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 4.21 per cent) , NBCC (India) (down 3.35 per cent) , Schaeffler India (down 1.35 per cent) , Kalpataru Power Transmission (down 1.3 per cent) and Grindwel Norton (down 1.15 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

Larsen & Toubro (down 1.13 per cent) , Carborundum Universal (down 1.04 per cent) , AIA Engineering (down 0.97 per cent) , Havells India (down 0.95 per cent) , Sadbhav Engineering (down 0.82 per cent) , Finolex Cables (down 0.7 per cent) , Honeywell Automation India (down 0.69 per cent) , Lakshmi Machine Works (down 0.44 per cent) , SKF India (down 0.34 per cent) , Hindustan Aeronautics (down 0.19 per cent) , ABB India Ltd (down 0.16 per cent) and Siemens (down 0.06 per cent) too were trading lower.

The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.91 per cent down at 16,890.93 around 11:44 am.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 52.60 points at 11,965.80, while the BSE Sensex was down 173.12 points at 40,606.47.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 12 were trading in the green, while 38 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JSPL, L&T Fin Holding, SBI, PFC, Petronet LNG, NCC and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
