Share market update: Nifty commodities index dips; SAIL slips 12%

NEW DELHI: Nifty commodities index was trading lower in Thursday's session.

Shares of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. (down 15.07 per cent ), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 13.41 per cent ), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (down 12.62 per cent ), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (down 12.35 per cent ), Vedanta Ltd. (down 11.30 per cent ), PI Industries Ltd. (down 11.27 per cent ), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (down 10.08 per cent ), Oil India Ltd. (down 10.01 per cent ), NMDC Ltd. (down 9.66 per cent ), Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (down 9.53 per cent ), UPL Ltd. (down 9.47 per cent ), Coal India Ltd. (down 9.35 per cent ), Ambuja Cements Ltd. (down 9.08 per cent ), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 8.96 per cent ), Aarti Industries Ltd. (down 8.43 per cent ), Tata Steel Ltd. (down 8.12 per cent ), Grasim Industries Ltd. (down 8.06 per cent ), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 8.02 per cent ), ACC Ltd. (down 7.93 per cent ) and Jindal Steel & Power (down 7.37 per cent ) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Commodities index was trading 7.97 per cent down at 2563.55 around 12:13 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 751.20 points at 9707.2 , while the BSE Sensex was down 2527.07 points at 33,170.33.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 0 were trading in the green, while 50 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Tata Motors, GMR Infra, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., ONGC, PNB, SAIL and Motherson Sumi were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
