Share market update: Nifty Financial Services index flat; REC rises 2%

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.
NEW DELHI: The Nifty Financial Services index was flat with most of its components trading mixed in Tuesday's afternoon session.

Shares of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company (up 2.29 per cent), REC (up 2 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.51 per cent) and Power Finance Corporation (up 0.86 per cent) were the top gainers in the index.

Indiabulls Housing Finance (down 1.46 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (down 1.07 per cent), State Bank of India (down 1.04 per cent) and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company (down 1.03 per cent) were trading lower.

The Nifty Financial Services index was trading flat at 13,634.50 around 02:15 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 47.40 points at 12,041.15 while the BSE Sensex was down 107.24 points at 40,160.38.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 32 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB, Rail Vikas Nigam, Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, SAIL, Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
