Share market update: Over 40 stocks plumb 52-week lows on NSE

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were in the green and 23 were in the red.

Coal India, Tech Mahindra, Indiabulls Housing Finance, HCL Technologies and Bharti Infratel were among the top losers in the Nifty index.
NEW DELHI: Over 40 stocks, including Amtek Auto, BGR Energy Systems, Camlin Fine Sciences, Dhanlaxmi Bank and eClerx Services, plumb 52-week lows on NSE in Wednesday's volatile market.

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company, Jaypee Infratech, Mcnally Bharat Engineering Company, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India, Precision Camshafts, Raj Television Network, Signet Industries, Supreme Petrochem, TD Power Systems, Unitech and Videocon Industries also featured among stocks that touched their 52-week lows on NSE.

With a positive start, equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty extended their record-setting spree for a third session on buying by domestic investors amid short-covering ahead of August futures and options expiry and mixed Asian cues.

However, market pared a major chunk of its gains as caution crept in ahead of August series F&O expiry scheduled tomorrow amid mixed cues from other Asian bourses.

The NSE Nifty index was trading flat at 11,738.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 17 points at 38,914 around 10:15 am.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were in the green and 23 were in the red.

Among the sectoral indices on NSE, IT, media, FMCG and financial were lacklustre, but PSU bank, metal and realty indices climbed over 1 per cent.

UPL, Vedanta, ONGC, State Bank of India and YES Bank were among the top gainers, while Coal India, Tech Mahindra, Indiabulls Housing Finance, HCL Technologies and Bharti Infratel were among the top losers in the Nifty index.

Reliance Communications, Adani Power, Adani Enterprises, Jaiprakash Associates, Suzlon Energy and Jain Irrigation were among the most traded stocks on NSE.
