I am 44 years old and I have two children. I had invested a lumpsum in the following mutual funds:
HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund: Rs 60,000
UTI Transportation and Logistics Fund: Rs 43,000
SBI Small cap Fund: Rs 65,000
ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund: Rs 1,50,000
Parag Parikh Long Term Equity Fund: Rs 1,50,000
SBI Bluechip Fund: Rs 20,000
Axis Focused 25 Fund: Rs 1,00,000
HDFC Capital Builder Value Fund: Rs 1,00,000
Principal Emerging Bluechip Fund: Rs 20,000

My goal is to create maximum wealth. My risk profile is moderate. How much corpus can I expect from these funds?
--Kiran Kamath

Deepali Sen, Founder, Srujan Financial Advisors, responds:

The funds you have chosen are fine. If the schemes continue to do well and you stay invested for 10 years, you can expect your corpus to be around Rs 2.19 crore, assuming an annual return of 12%.

Also, adding too many funds to your portfolio can lead to over-diversification. You should have only four to five mutual fund schemes in your portfolio, based on your risk profile and investment horizon.
