I want to invest in mutual funds for a long period, say, five to seven years or may be 10 years. I am 30 and I can invest Rs 5,000 in 2-3 SIPs or one-time investment. I have moderate risk and I don’t want to lose any money. Please suggest funds for me.

Mutual fund advisors typically recommend multi cap schemes to investors with a long-term horizon and moderate risk appetite. These schemes invest across market capitalisations and sectors. However, you should be prepared for volatility in the short to medium term. Over a long period, equity mutual funds can offer you superior returns than other asset classes.
