I have been investing Rs 22,000 in the following mutual fund schemes via monthly SIP:

Aditya Birla SL Frontline Equity Fund - Rs 3,000
Kotak Standard Multicap Fund - Rs 3,000
Mirae Asset Large Cap Fund-Reg - Rs 2,000
Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip-Reg - Rs 4,500
Motilal Oswal Multicap 35 Fund-Reg - Rs 3,500
ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund - Rs 2,000
Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity Fund - Rs 1,000
HDFC Hybrid Equity Fund - Rs 1,000
Mirae Asset Hybrid Fund - Rs 2,000

Is my mutual fund portfolio good? Should I continue SIP in these schemes for 15 years at least? I want to create a corpus of Rs 2 crore. Kindly provide suggestions on improving my portfolio.

Dilshad Billimoria, Founder, Dilzer Consultants, responds:

All your schemes are good, but you don’t need so many schemes in your investment portfolio. This will lead to overlapping of portfolios and pull your returns down. One large cap, one multi cap, one mid cap and a tax saver is sufficient for an investor like you. You have also invested in the same scheme twice. I can’t seem to understand why? Closely watch the performance of Aditya Birla Sun Life Frontline Equity before adding more money to the scheme.
