The quake struck Linkou in Heilongjiang Province at 12:22 AM (local time) at a depth of 580 km, the China Earthquake Networks Centre said.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the epicentre of the quake was Indo-Pak border and it hit at a depth of 15 kms.
There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property till the last reports came in. The tremor occurred at 2.07 pm.
