NEW DELHI: The National Democratic Alliance is divided in Bihar with the BJP rowing two boats of the Janata Dal-United (JDU) and the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) which will sink, the main opposition party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has said.

“Chirag Paswan is reiterating whatever our leader Tejashwi Yadav has been saying against the Nitish Kumar government, be it on corruption in the government, the plight of migrant labourers, lack of jobs or mishandling of the corona situation. Chirag Paswan is also asking the same questions as Tejashwi Yadav. It is a piquant situation in the NDA camp where LJP says it is with BJP but not the JDU, while BJP says it is with JDU. The people are watching all this. BJP is rowing two boats,” RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha told ET Tuesday.

RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said there would be utter confusion amongst the voters regarding the NDA alliance as Ram Vilas Paswan is continuing as a Minister in the NDA at the Centre and Chirag Paswan remains an MP from the NDA camp but BJP claims LJP is not part of the NDA in Bihar.

“How will they convince people of this strange arrangement? It is a conflicting situation,” Tiwari said. RJDs former ally VIP is also now in talks with the BJP to join the NDA but Tiwari it was a case of some selfish parties looking for greener pastures.

RJD has also strongly reacted to its leaders Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav being booked in a murder case on Monday of a former RJD worker in Purnia, with Manoj Kumar Jha terming it “a diversionary tactic and a case of headline management” by the state government.

“They are rattled after Tejashwi Yadav was declared as the Chief Ministerial face by the Mahagathbandan which is getting traction among the people of Bihar,” Jha said. He said the government should ensure the due process of law is followed in the case by the police.

NDA may be a divided house but with a firm super structure(BJP) whereas UPA or Mahagathbandhan is already a shattered house.
