LALU’S ABSENCE
Besides party leaders and family members, people of Bihar miss him in this election. I can see the disappointment among people because of the absence of Laluji in this poll campaign. People know he is a victim of political vendetta. They know the truth. There is anger in them.

NDA ‘STAR’ CAMPAIGNERS
They all are stars. Zameen par rehne waala koi nahin (None of them is on the ground). We have more prominent faces than the NDA. We have leaders like former CM and HAM (Hindustani Awam Morcha) president Jitan Ram Manjhi, RLSP (Rashtriya Lok Samata Party) chief and former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha . People have made up their mind. Nobody can change their mind chahe jo bhi star wo laayein (even if they field any stars). BEING RJD’S LONE FACE I know my responsibility well. It does not matter if someone is a lone face.

RAHUL GANDHI
We want to make him our next PM. Rahulji heads a big party. However, he is expected to connect the UPA with more allies. If it is possible with the help of RJD, we will do it. But, if there is requirement of more allies after the election, it would be the decision of Congress. It has a bigger role in this matter.

DELAY IN SEAT-SHARING
This is a non-issue. It’s baseless. It took a long time for the NDA to declare its seat-sharing arrangement after the announcement made by JDU president Nitish Kumar and BJP president Amit Shah that their party would contest equal number of seats in Bihar.

PRIYANKA’S UP ROLE
Priyanka Gandhiji is a young leader. She is dynamic and she has a personality. She connects with people. She understands their problems. I see a positive impact on Congress party, particularly in UP, after her entry into politics. I can’t talk about UP in detail. However, I feel Congress has regained its lost ground recently there. Congress party is now visible.

ON MAYAWATI
Here is the difficulty – too much assumption. UP media saw my visit to Mayawatiji in a different way. There were reports in the media that I had met her with a proposal from the Congress party. In contrast, Bihar media found that we were planning to dump the Congress in Bihar. First of all, the media should be clear in their views.

ABSENCE OF CONG IN UP ALLIANCE
UP is a different state. Our state is Bihar. UP leaders will be in position to tell you about this. We had no role in it. However, we were in favour of bringing all opposition parties on a single platform right from the very beginning. I think nobody is going to support the BJP after the poll results. BJP’S MANIFESTO I remember the term given by my Chacha (Nitish Kumar) for BJP as ‘baraka jhootha party’ (liar party). The promises they made in 2014 Lok Sabha polls could not be fulfilled.
