Queen Elizabeth 2's grandson Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who have given up on royalty as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will need to do a lot more to match their current earnings. Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, left a little over £12.96 million to him and his elder brother, Prince William, at the time of her death in 1997, which were to be divided equally between them. By the time Harry inherited his mother’s assets, in 2014, when he turned 30 — as per the will — he got over £10 million.

Meghan is said to have earned around $50,000 per episode from the TV show Suits in which she starred for 7 seasons. Her net worth was estimated to be $5 million when she married in 2018. Even though Prince Charles isn’t required to pay income tax, he’s been voluntarily paying so since 1993. However, he pays it only on the net revenue surplus — so for instance, less the surplus, lesser the tax.

For instance, in 2017-18, his net surplus income was £20.23 million while in 2018-19, it dropped down to £4.88 million.
