UK to allow fans in stadia from next week

CIL to set up 3 GW solar power projects of Rs 5,650 crore
State-owned Coal India on Monday said it plans to set up 14 rooftop and ground-mounted solar power projects of 3,000 MW capacity by 2023-24 which will entail an investment of Rs 5,650 crore. Coal India (CIL) is mandated by the coal ministry to become a net zero carbon company. Solar power initiative is a part of CIL's diversification plans, the PSU said in a filing to BSE.
Yemen rebels claim attack on Saudi oil facility in Jiddah
Brig. Gen. Yehia Sarie, a Houthi military spokesman, tweeted that the rebels fired a new Quds-2 cruise missile at the facility. He posted a satellite image online that matched Aramco's North Jiddah Bulk Plant, where oil products are stored in tanks. That facility is just southeast of Jiddah's King Abdulaziz International Airport, a major airfield that handles incoming Muslim pilgrims en route to nearby Mecca.
2G case: HC dismisses plea challenging Centre's decision
The Delhi High Court Monday dismissed various pleas challenging the decision making process behind the Centre's approval to the CBI to file appeal against the acquittal of 2G scam accused, including former telecom minister A Raja. The high court also rejected the prayer by some of the acquitted individuals seeking to direct the government to place on record the documents containing the process to be followed before taking a decision to file an appeal.

- Pakistan summoned a senior Indian diplomat to register its protest over alleged ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the LoC.
- According to Foreign Office (FO), the “indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian forces" in Khuiratta sector of the LoC on Sunday resulted in the death of 11 civilians.
- The FO alleged that India has committed over 2,820 ceasefire violations this year resulting in 26 deaths and serious injuries to 245 civilians.

Singapore reports 5 imported COVID-19 cases
- Singapore reported five new imported cases of COVID-19, all of whom were placed on stay-home notices on arrival. It said that there was no locally-transmitted case for 13 consecutive days.
- The ministry also said that five of the 12 imported cases, reported on Sunday, came from India. Three of the five cases were the permanent residents of Singapore, one was dependent's pass holder and the fifth was a student pass holder who arrived from India. The rest of the seven cases were from Indonesia and the Philippines.
- All have been placed under stay-home notices.
