Coronavirus cases rise to 1,071 in India, number of dead at 29

Karnataka has reported 80 cases, Uttar Pradesh 75, Telangana 69, Gujarat 58 and Delhi 53. Other majorly affected states include Rajasthan (57), Tamil Nadu (50) and Haryana (33), among others. Maharashtra has reported the highest statewise death tally at 8, while Gujarat has reported 5 deaths.

The number of coronavirus cases has jumped to 1,071 in India, latest data from Health ministry showed. As many as 100 patients have recovered while 29 have died from the disease.

Today's data shows Kerala as having the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases at 194. Maharashtra is a close second at 193.

Karnataka has reported 80 cases, Uttar Pradesh 75, Telangana 69, Gujarat 58 and Delhi 53. Other majorly affected states include Rajasthan (57), Tamil Nadu (50) and Haryana (33), among others.

Maharashtra has reported the highest statewise death tally at 8, while Gujarat has reported 5 deaths.

The global case count, meanwhile, is quickly nearing the 7.25 lakh mark. About 34,000 people have so far died. In India too, cases have risen rapidly over the past one week to cross the thousand mark amid fears that the real tally could be way higher.
